The Sea Gate Board of Director's has established a newsletter whose purpose is to inform all residents of happenings in our unique sea- side community. Our newsletter announces community events, accomplishments and provides information about how our community functions. It was created to keep the community of Sea Gate up to date on the happenings in our area.
Our Association's mission is to preserve and improve the physical, social and economic health of our community. We wish to support our community's self-reliance and enhance the quality of life for residents through improved community-based services and resident cooperation.
Spring Greetings from the President and Members of the Sea Gate Board of Directors
With the arrival of spring our board and staff members have planted seeds for new initiatives while continuing work on ongoing projects. We thank all volunteers, employees, and, community members for your service and commitment to Sea Gate. All must work together if our community is to grow and prosper.
The ongoing projects we are talking about relate to street paving, and repairing catch basins. These repairs will continue until all our streets are paved and catch basins repaired. Paving our streets is a prime community concern and a responsibility which we must address for the safety and health of all residents.
The new spring initiatives are focused on refurbishing our entrance gates. New entrance gates and new security cameras enhance the safety of our community. There are many areas of need that we have to address over the years and we will continue to do so. They include the following new and ongoing initiatives:
- Enhancing the Sea Gate Light House as a symbol of our unique community. Located on Beach 47th Street it is 75-foot-tall structure known as the Coney Island Light House built in 1890.
- The continued paving of the streets.
- Beautifying Sea Gate: Memorial Benches and Flower Pots and Trees.
- Repair and enhance the chapel that was built in 1901. It is a historical building now used for social events and as a polling site at election times.
- New turnstile for pedestrian traffic on Neptune Avenue
- Provide security cameras for Lindy Park and enhance security removing sand build up on Oceanview Beach.
- Meet and Greet initiative for new homeowners
- New Dog Park!
- New Sea Gate website
